Note: You must enter your realname, email adress, the name of an emperor and provide an article abstract for this form to process correctly

What is your email adress?


1. What is your name as you would like it to appear in the byline for your article?


2. Which emperor or empe rors do you plant to submit an essay on?


3. Please provide an abstract outlining the main points of your article, or if you prefer, include the complete article he re. (If you wish to submit proposals for several related articles, you may list them individually here, rather than filing separate forms for each.


4. If you are a first-time contributor to DIR, please provide a brief biography as you would like it to appear in the Contributors' Index in the event that your article is accepted. (Your biography must begin with your name as writt en under 1 above. It should be written in the third person. Include mention of any particular qualifications that make you an authority on your topic(s). Include your institutional affiliation, if applicable. (See sample biographies below.) Your biography is considered by the Editorial Board when making decisions, so please take it seriously. You may also include links to your own homepage and/or your institutional affiliation in your biography. If you should choose to do so, please provide the necessaryU RLs.) If you have written other scholarly articles relating to the emperor you will be writing about, please include a short bibliography.


5. If your article is accepted, you will be given an invitation to join the Editorial Board of the DIR as an Associate Member. The Editorial Board's principal role is to accept or reject article proposals for the encyclopedia, though some Board members may opt for a higher level of involvement. The Board is administrated over email. If your article is accepted, will you wish to join the Editorial Board? (If you answer yes to this question, your name will be added to the mailing lis t.)


6. If your article is accepted, you will have the option of maintaining your article for yourself. Wil l you wish to maintain your article yourself? (If you answer no to this question, the Editorial Board will find someone to maintain your article for you.)


7. Do you agree that your article will be formatted according to the layout designated for DIR?


8. If you opt to maintain your article yourself, do you agree to update your article on a regular basis to reflect new links, if necessary?


9. Do you agree to retaining your own copyright under the following rubric:

10. Do you welc ome questions, comments and/or observations about your article from DIR readers? (If you answer yes to this question, a small mail icon will be put after your name at the bottom of your article inviting readers to send their comments.)

Note:

  1. If this form processes correctly, you will receive a carbon copy of your submission within several minutes. Please make sure you have entered a valid em ail adress in the first entry.
  2. If for some reason this form does not process after several tries, copy it along with your responses and email it to romanemp@salve5.salve.edu. Please put the word Proposal: followed by your article title in the subject field.
  3. If you do not hear from a member of the editorial board within 48 hours, please contact Richard D. Weigel.
